To rehabilitate and empower persons with disabilities in rural and urban areas by appointing them as rehabilitation workers (VRWs/MRWs), enabling them to provide counselling, guidance, and support services to other persons with disabilities at their doorstep.
A. Employment Opportunities:
Village Rehabilitation Workers (VRWs):
PwDs with SSLC passed or failed are appointed as VRWs.
Multi-purpose Rehabilitation Workers (MRWs):
PwDs with graduation appointed at Taluk level.
Urban Rehabilitation Workers:
PwDs appointed in local urban areas.
B. Death Compensation Benefit:
In case of death of a rehabilitation worker after 2 years of service,
Their dependents are provided ₹50,000/- as compensation.
A. Disability Requirement:
Must have Benchmark Disability (≥ 40%) as per RPwD Act 2016.
B. Age:
Applicant must be 18 years or above.
C. Other Conditions:
No income limit.
Education qualification varies by position:
SSLC pass/fail for VRWs
Graduation for MRWs
A. Visit the District Disabled Welfare Office or local government offices.
B. Collect and fill out the application form.
C. Attach required documents.
D. Submit the completed form to the District Social Welfare Office or Taluk Office.
