Details

To provide free accessible educational materials in various formats like Braille, Large Print, E-Pub, and Talking Books to support inclusive education for students with visual impairments and other eligible disabilities.

Benefits

a. Free Provision of Accessible Learning Materials:

  1. Braille Books for students with visual impairment.

  2. Large Print Books for students with low vision.

  3. E-Pub Formats suitable for digital reading and screen readers.

  4. Talking Books for students with blindness or deaf-blindness.

b. Delivered via:

  1. Educational institutions, schools, and libraries.

  2. Partnering NGOs and authorized implementing agencies.

Eligibility

a. Disability Criteria:

  1. Must have at least 40% disability under RPwD Act.

  2. Applies to students with visual impairment, low vision, or deaf-blindness.

b. Educational Criteria:

  1. Must be enrolled in a recognized educational institution.

c. Income Criteria:

  1. No income criteria apply for availing the benefits.

Application Process (Offline)

Through Educational Institutions:

  1. Students are identified and registered by schools or NGOs.

  2. Materials are distributed directly through these institutions.

Documents Required

a. For Students:

  1. UDID Card or valid Disability Certificate (minimum 40%).

  2. Proof of enrollment in a school, college, or training centre.

b. For Institutions (if applicable):

  1. Enrollment records of eligible students.

  2. Official request/application to the implementing agency.
