Free Supply of Prosthetic Appliances to Differently Abled Persons

a. To reduce functional limitations of persons with disabilities by providing essential assistive aids.
b. To enhance mobility, independence, and daily living activities through free distribution of prosthetic and assistive devices.

Benefits

• Free supply of the following prosthetic appliances, as prescribed by government medical officers:

  • Calipers

  • Crutches

  • Wheelchairs

  • Tricycles

  • Hearing Aids

  • Spectacles / Low Vision Aids

Eligibility

1. Person with 40% or more disability (multiple disabilities included).

2. Resident/Nativity of Puducherry for at least 5 years.

3. Annual income should not exceed ₹75,000/-.

4. Must have recommendation/prescription from Government Medical Officer or Specialist at Govt. General Hospital (Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, Yanam).

Application Process (Offline)

Apply through the Directorate of Social Welfare, Puducherry or respective regional sub-offices with a valid medical recommendation.
