To encourage academic excellence among visually impaired students by awarding cash prizes to those who secure the top three state-level ranks in SSLC and HSC examinations, in both Government and Private schools in Puducherry.
Cash Awards based on ranking in SSLC or HSC exams:
1st Rank: ₹20,000/-
2nd Rank: ₹15,000/-
3rd Rank: ₹10,000/-
The student must be 100% visually impaired.
Should be a resident/nativity holder of Puducherry for at least 5 years.
Must have studied in Tamil or English medium.
Must have passed SSLC or HSC examinations from a Government or Private school in Puducherry.
No income restriction.
Step 1: Visit the concerned Social Welfare Office and collect the application form.
Step 2: Fill out the form, paste a passport-size photo, and attach the required self-attested documents.
Step 3: Submit to the appropriate office:
Puducherry: Deputy Director, Differently Abled Section, Directorate of Social Welfare
Karaikal: Assistant Director, Social Welfare Department (Sub Office)
Mahe / Yanam: Welfare Officer (i/c), Social Welfare Department (Sub Office)
Step 4: Request an acknowledgment receipt upon submission.
