Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme

Details

A. To provide financial support to persons with severe disabilities
B. To ensure social security for individuals with 80% or more benchmark disabilities
C. To reduce economic dependency among persons with disabilities from Below Poverty Line families

Benefits

A. A monthly pension of ₹2,000 is provided to eligible beneficiaries
B. The amount is directly transferred to the beneficiary’s Jan Dhan bank account

Eligibility

A. Applicant must be a resident of the state of Sikkim
B. Must belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category
C. Disability must be 80% or more, as certified by the competent medical authority
D. Age of applicant should be 18 years or above
E. Applicant must:
    1. Not have any regular source of income
    2. Not be receiving salary, pension, or family pension from the Central/State Government
    3. Hold a bank account under the “Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana”

Application Process (Offline)

A. Visit the local Social Welfare Department office
B. Collect and fill the prescribed application form
C. Attach required documents (self-attested copies)
D. Submit the completed application form to the concerned officer
E. Collect the acknowledgement or receipt of application submission

Documents Required

A. Three recent passport-size photographs
B. Attested photocopy of:
    1. Sikkim Subject Certificate
    2. Certificate of Identification
C. Income Certificate
D. Caste Certificate (if applicable)
E. Attested photocopy of Below Poverty Line Certificate
F. Proof of age (any one of the following):
    1. Birth Certificate
    2. Electoral Photo Identity Card
    3. Any other valid document showing date of birth
G. Attested photocopy of Aadhar Card
H. Attested photocopy of:
    1. First page of Bank/Post Office Passbook
    2. Latest updated bank account statement
I. Disability Certificate/UDID Card issued by competent Medical Authority (certifying 80% or more disability)
