Vikaas is a Day Care Scheme under the National Trust, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
It provides:
Day-care services for PwDs aged 10 years and above
Focus on interpersonal and vocational skill development
Counselling and guidance in Activities for Daily Living (ADLs)
Optional transportation facilities
Assessment and evaluation
Relief to family members during the day to attend to other responsibilities
a. 100% funding for BPL beneficiaries in Vikaas Centres
b. Structured daily programs to build:
Social interaction and peer group exposure
Workplace readiness through vocational activities
Routine and discipline for independent living
c. Transportation (optional), therapeutic support, and guided counselling
a. Eligibility for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs):
Age: 10 years or above
Disability: Must have Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability, or Multiple Disabilities under the National Trust Act, 1999
Must have UDID Card
Must possess an Aadhaar Card
b. Eligibility for Registered Organizations (ROs):
Must be registered with the National Trust
Must have valid registration under the PwD Act 1995 at time of enrolment
Minimum 2 years’ experience with PwDs; 1 year must be in one of the four disabilities under the Act
Must not be blacklisted by National Trust or any Govt. organization
Must be registered on NGO Darpan Portal of NITI Aayog
Beneficiaries (parents/guardians) must:
Visit a registered Vikaas Centre physically
Submit required documents
Enroll for the scheme by completing the admission formalities
a. For the Person with Disability (PwD):
Enrolment Form (available at centre)
Birth Certificate or valid proof of Date of Birth
UDID Card
b. For the Parent/Guardian:
BPL Certificate (for free services) or Income Certificate (for LIG category)
ID Proof (e.g., Aadhaar, Voter ID, etc.)
Local Residence Proof (mandatory for LIG category or for availing transport facility)
