Pre-Matric Scholarship for Students with Benchmark Disabilities

Details

To support and encourage education among students with benchmark disabilities studying in Classes 1 to 10 by providing financial assistance.

Benefits

a. Maintenance Allowance:

  1. ₹800 per month for hostellers.

  2. ₹500 per month for day-scholars.

b. Disability Allowance:

  1. ₹4,000 per annum for students with Visual Impairment or Intellectual Disabilities.

  2. ₹2,000 per annum for students with all other types of disabilities.

c. Book Allowance:

  1. ₹1,000 per annum for all eligible students.

Eligibility

a. Disability Criteria:

  1. The student must have at least 40% disability certified by a competent medical authority.

  2. Must possess a valid benchmark disability certificate.

b. Educational Level:

  1. Must be a regular student of Class 1 to 10.

c. Family Income Limit:

  1. Parental income should not exceed ₹2.50 lakh per annum.

d. Institution Type:

  1. Must be studying in a recognized government, government-aided, or local body school.

Application Process (Offline)

a. Collection of Form:

  1. Obtain the application form from the school or local social welfare office.

b. Form Completion:

  1. Fill in personal, academic, and income-related details.

  2. Attach all required documents.

c. Submission:

  1. Submit the completed form to the school head.

  2. The school forwards it to the district or state welfare department.

Documents Required

a. Identity and Disability Proof:

  1. Aadhaar Card.

  2. Valid benchmark disability certificate.

b. Academic Documents:

  1. Previous year’s mark sheet or promotion certificate.

  2. Bonafide certificate from the school.

c. Income Proof:

  1. Income certificate issued by a competent authority (e.g., Tehsildar or SDM).

d. Bank Details:

  1. Student’s or parent’s bank account passbook copy.

  2. Bank account must be Aadhaar-linked.

e. Photograph:

  1. Recent passport-size photo of the student.
