The Samarth Scheme is a residential respite care program.It is designed to support orphans, abandoned Divyangjan, persons from families in crisis, and those from BPL/LIG families, especially children under 18 years of age with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability, or Multiple Disabilities
a. Free residential care for eligible PwDs under 18 years
b. Access to pre-vocational and educational support
c. Relief to families by providing alternate, temporary care
d. Transition support to Gharaunda Scheme after age 18 (if applicable)
e. 100% funding for BPL individuals by the National Trust
a. Eligibility for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs):
Must have at least one of the following disabilities:
Autism
Cerebral Palsy
Intellectual Disability
Multiple Disabilities (as per the National Trust Act, 1999)
Must be under 18 years of age
Must not be enrolled under Disha, Vikaas, or Gharaunda schemes simultaneously
Must possess a valid UDID card and Aadhaar card
b. Eligibility for Registered Organizations (ROs):
Must be registered with the National Trust
Must have valid registration under the PwD Act, 1995
Must be registered on the NGO Darpan Portal of NITI Aayog
Must have minimum 2 years of experience working with PwDs
Including at least 1 year with one of the four target disabilities
Should not be blacklisted by the National Trust or any government agency
Beneficiary or their guardian must:
Visit a registered Samarth Centre physically
Complete the enrolment process
Submit the required documents
a. For Person with Disability (PwD):
Enrolment form
Birth Certificate or other Date of Birth proof
Disability Certificate (UDID)
BPL Certificate or Income Certificate
b. For Parent or Guardian:
ID Proof (e.g., Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, etc.)
Legal Guardian (LG) Certificate:
If parents are not the guardians, or
If the PwD is above 18 years, and parents are not the guardians
