Gharaunda Scheme (Group Home for Adults) is a residential care initiative. It provides assured lifelong residential care and support services for adults (18 years and above) with:
Autism
Cerebral Palsy
Intellectual Disability (formerly Mental Retardation)
Multiple Disabilities
a. Residential group housing for adults with disabilities
b. Pre-vocational and vocational activities
c. Continuous care and support throughout life
d. Smooth transition from Samarth to Gharaunda (if eligible)
e. 100% funding for BPL beneficiaries by the National Trust
a. Eligibility for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs):
Must be 18 years of age or above
Must have one of the following disabilities under the National Trust Act, 1999:
Autism
Cerebral Palsy
Intellectual Disability
Multiple Disabilities
Must possess a UDID card and an Aadhaar card
b. Eligibility for Registered Organizations (ROs):
Must be registered with the National Trust
Must have valid registration under the PwD Act, 1995
Must be listed on the NGO Darpan Portal of NITI Aayog
Must have at least 2 years’ experience working with PwDs
Including 1 year with one of the four eligible disabilities
Should not be blacklisted by any government agency
Visit a registered Gharaunda Centre
Apply through the implementing agency/RO
Complete enrolment and document verification
a. For Person with Disability (PwD):
Enrolment form
Birth certificate or valid Date of Birth proof
Disability certificate (UDID)
BPL certificate or Income certificate
b. For Parent or Guardian:
ID proof (Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, etc.)
Legal Guardian (LG) Certificate in the following cases:
If parents are not the guardians, or
If PwD is over 18 years and parents are not legal guardians
