Badhte Kadam is a scheme by the National Trust (DEPwD, MSJE) aimed at promoting awareness, sensitization, social inclusion, and community interaction for persons with disabilites. It targets the four disabilities covered under the National Trust Act, 1999:
Autism
Cerebral Palsy
Mental Retardation (Intellectual Disability)
Multiple Disabilities
a. Funding support for:
Community awareness programs
Sensitization drives
Dissemination of preventive strategies
Innovative projects that enhance the quality of life for PwDs
b. Increases public awareness and inclusion of Divyangjan in all spheres of life
c. Promotes mainstreaming and social integration
d. Aims to reduce myths, stigma, and misconceptions about disabilities
e. Expand the reach of National Trust schemes in underserved areas
a. Eligibility for Organizations:
Must be a Registered Organization (RO) under the National Trust
Must be registered under the RPwD Act at the time of submission
Should not be blacklisted by the National Trust or any other government body
b. Target Group:
Persons with 40% or more disability under any of the 4 categories listed in the National Trust Act
No age restriction
a. Submit scheme enrolment form and proposal to the National Trust office
b. Waiting for approval, evaluation, and fund disbursement based on activity plan
c. Regularly submit reports and documentation for monitoring
a. For Registered Organization (RO):
Proof of Registration under the National Trust
RPwD Act Registration Certificate
Undertaking stating organization is not blacklisted
Activity proposal with objectives, target group, expected outcomes, and budget
Bank account details for fund transfer
Previous project reports (if applicable)
