Post-Matric Scholarship for Students with Benchmark Disabilities

Details

To support and encourage higher education among students with benchmark disabilities (40% and above) pursuing post-matric to postgraduate level courses by providing financial assistance through reimbursement of fees, allowances, and other educational expenses.

Benefits

a. Tuition Fee Reimbursement:

  1. Full tuition fee reimbursed as per actuals or scheme limit.

b. Maintenance Allowance:

  1. Monthly allowance as per category of course and accommodation type (hosteller/day scholar).

c. Disability Allowance (per annum):

  1. ₹4,000 for Visual Impairment/Intellectual Disabilities.

  2. ₹2,000 for all other disabilities.

d. Book Allowance:

  1. ₹1,500 per annum.

e. Miscellaneous Allowances:

  1. May include exam fees, transport allowance, etc., as per scheme guidelines.

Eligibility

a. Disability Criteria:

  1. Must have benchmark disability of 40% or more.

  2. Valid UDID card or disability certificate required.

b. Educational Level:

  1. Enrolled in post-matriculation or post-secondary courses, up to Master’s degree.

c. Institution Type:

  1. Institution must be recognized by relevant authorities.

d. Income Limit:

  1. Parental/guardian’s annual income must not exceed ₹2.50 lakh.

Application Process (Offline)

a. Availability:

  1. The scheme is primarily online, but in special circumstances:

    • Contact the institution’s scholarship coordinator or district social welfare office.

b. Form Submission:

  1. Fill out the printed application form (if available offline).

  2. Attach necessary documents and submit to the school/college head or district authority.

Documents Required

a. Identity and Disability Documents:

  1. Aadhaar Card.

  2. UDID card or valid disability certificate.

b. Income Proof:

  1. Income certificate issued by a competent authority (e.g., SDM/Tehsildar).

c. Academic Certificates:

  1. Previous year’s mark sheet.

  2. Admission proof or fee receipt of current course.

  3. Bonafide certificate from institution.

d. Bank Details:

  1. Bank passbook copy (account in student’s or guardian’s name).

  2. Ensure account is Aadhaar-linked.

e. Photograph:

  1. Recent passport-size photograph of the student.
