To encourage the social inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities by providing financial assistance upon marriage, whether with another person with disability or a non-disabled individual.
a) If both partners are persons with disabilities:
1) ₹1,00,000/- total (₹50,000/- per person)
b) If only one partner is a person with disability:
1) ₹50,000/- to the person with disability
a) Disability Requirement (as per RPwD Act 2016):
1) At least 40% benchmark disability for most categories
2) 71%-100% for hearing impairment
3) 50% and above for certain neurological and developmental conditions
b) Age Criteria:
1) Women: above 18 years
2) Men: above 21 years
c) Marital Conditions:
1) Marriage must be registered
2) Application must be submitted within 2 years of marriage
3) The benefit is available only once per couple
4) In case a differently-abled person marries a differently-abled woman from another state, both may be eligible upon providing proof and an undertaking that the woman has not received similar benefits from her home state
