Scheme of Rehabilitation for Mentally Challenged (Currently Known as Intellectual Disability) Children/Adults

Details

a) To establish homes and institutions for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
b) To help them develop their potential fully, attain maximum independence, and integrate into the community as well-adjusted individuals.

Benefits

a) Setting up of:
 1. Government-run institutions for children with intellectual disability.
 2. NGO-run institutions for children and adults with intellectual disability.
b) Financial support for:
 1. 100% funding of government sector institutions through the Directorate of SCs, OBCs & Minority Affairs, Himachal Pradesh.
 2. Grant-in-aid up to 90% of the project cost for NGOs; remaining 10% to be contributed by the concerned organization.

Eligibility

a) Individuals of all age groups with intellectual disability, having benchmark disability of above 40%.
b) Applicable to institutions listed in:
 1. Annexure-I: Government sector (children)
 2. Annexure-II: NGO sector (children)
 3. Annexure-III: NGO sector (adults)a) Parents/guardians must apply using the prescribed format in Annexure-IV.

Application Process (Offline)

a) Parents/guardians must apply using the prescribed format in Annexure-IV.
b) Submit the application to:
 Director, SCs, OBCs, Minority & Disability Affairs, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla

Documents Required

a) Date of Birth Certificate of the applicant (child/adult)
b) Aadhar Card
c) Annual Income Certificate of parents/guardian (issued by Tehsildar)
d) UDID Card
