To provide financial assistance in the form of scholarships to the children (including those with benchmark disabilities) of registered artisans and weavers in Jammu & Kashmir.
A. Scholarship for maximum two children per registered Artisan/Weaver family.
B. Scholarship amounts:
₹1500 per annum for Primary Classes (up to Class 5)
₹2000 per annum for Classes 6th to 10th
₹3000 per annum for Classes 11th and 12th
Full course fee (as per Govt. norms) for Professional/Technical Courses
C. Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the student's bank account
A. The applicant must be a child of a registered Artisan/Weaver in the Handicrafts/Handloom Department of J&K.
B. The total annual family income should not exceed ₹90,000.
C. The student must not have availed benefits under:
Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme
Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme
Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme
Any other similar educational scheme
D. Must obtain No Objection Certificates from:
Concerned Zonal Education Officer (ZEO)
Tehsil Social Welfare Officer (TSWO)
A. Applications invited by Assistant Director, Handicrafts/Handloom Department
B. Public notification is issued via:
Local newspapers
Electronic media
C. Selection made by field officials after:
Verification of documents
Validation of eligibility
D. Processed within the financial year based on fund availability
